Appendix 1. Verification of inventory - metrics, verifiers and advertising surfaces

 

Rambler Group provides advertising services subject to the following requirements, but reserves the right to express in the placement of any advertising material without giving a reason.

Terms of accommodation

  1. Promotional materials should not contradict the requirements of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, including the Federal Law on Advertising.
  2. In promotional materials is not allowed to use:
    • nude images that have a frank erotic nature, as well as the use of frank, frightening or aesthetically unacceptable images (including defiantly dressed people, diseases, injuries, catastrophes, etc.);
    • calls for violence and cruelty, incitement of ethnic hatred, use of slang, abusive and offensive language
    • appeals to “you” to the user (except for cases when it is justified by a creative, for example, in advertising of children's goods);
    • contrasting color combinations, massive and bright graphic elements;
    • contrasting color combinations, massive and bright graphic elements;
    • long and fast frame change, frequent animation, distracting users from the site content;
    • low-quality images with poor resolution, distortions, artifacts, fuzzy graphics and pixels;
    • images or logos of third parties, as well as links to sites that are not related to the advertised product, service;
    • imitations of elements of the interface sites Rambler Group.
  3. The advertising message should be made only in Russian. The use of other languages in the advertising message is possible with the use of geographical targeting to the respective regions (USA, Israel, Ukraine, etc.).
  4. The advertising message must correspond to the content of the page to which the link from the advertising material leads.
  5. Promotional materials of all formats must be accompanied by an exact link to the resource sent separately. The file itself should not contain a direct link to the resource. All links, auditing codes and pixels should work using the https protocol.
  6. The background of advertising material should be made in the form of a rectangular graphic object that fills the entire working field (unless otherwise provided by the requirements for a specific format). It is not allowed to use a transparent background, using an external frame with rounded corners. If the banner background is light/white/transparent, a single pixel frame in a contrasting colour is needed to separate it from the site content.
  7. For Rich media and non-standard placements it is necessary to coordinate creatives with the site before placement.
  8. Allowed no more than five creatives (advertising materials) for an advertising campaign.
  9. Dynamic changes in the content (images, texts, arrangement of elements, color scheme) of the creative are not allowed.
  10. Placement can be guaranteed only if advertising materials are provided to Rambler Group employees who fully comply with the requirements, at least five working days prior to the placement.
  11. All advertising materials must meet both the general requirements and the requirements for a specific advertising format.

Terms and definitions

SberSeller is an advertising agency "Index 20" Ltd.

General rules for verification
  1. Verification is used to allow the client or advertiser to obtain alternative statistics.
  2. Systems that have successfully passed the integration and testing procedure are eligible for verification. A list of such systems, metrics, sites, and formats can be found in Appendix 1. The regulations for working with inventory verification systems are presented here.
  3. During verification, it is not allowed to collect audience segments beyond the formation of quantitative and qualitative metrics required to evaluate the results of the advertising campaign.
  4. During verification, it is not allowed to use data obtained as a result of measurements to create segments for the purposes of clients or for the benefit of any third parties.
  5. Verification must work without mechanisms of explicit or implicit invocation of other verification systems.
  6. The verification requirement may not serve as a basis for using external services with the function of storing, selecting and displaying creativity (ad-serving).
  7. The operation of the verification system should not have a negative influence on the work of the site and ad-creation, including CTR, IVT, viewability and inspection metrics.
  8. Verification results on SberCeller sites may not be published or shared with third parties without SberCeller's consent.
Requirements for verification materials
  1. Materials for verification must be provided in accordance with clause 1 of this document.
  2. Verification by code is possible by no more than one verifier for one creature.
  3. Verification materials (codes, pixels for auditing impressions, inspections, click-URL) must provide operation via http and https protocols.
  4. Materials for verification must be provided in separate text files with a mandatory indication of the metrics being measured and the placement to which they refer.
Processing of Claims and Granting of Compensations
  1. General rules for processing claims
    1. Claims are accepted according to the metrics described in Appendix 1.
    2. Claims processing requires initial compliance by the client with the rules and requirements described in this document.
    3. Discrepancies are defined as the difference between SberSeller's measurements and the verifier's measurements.
    4. Limits of acceptable discrepancies, above which claims processing begins, for:
      • clicks, displays, viewability, video views: 15%
      • GIVT: 2%
      • SIVT: 10%
      • Brand safety: not regulated (because there is no industry standard for Brand safety measurement)
    5. Claims are accepted:
      • by metrics clicks, impressions, video views - no later than 3 working days from the moment of discrepancies appearance
      • for Viewability, Brand safety, GIVT, SIVT metrics - no later than 14 working days from the moment of discrepancy
    6. MRC-certified verifiers need to report the results of the advertising campaign, for other verifiers - to report the results of the advertising campaign and logs.
    7. Based on the data received, SberCeller and the verifier analyze the reasons for discrepancies. The result of this analysis is the basis for the decision on compensation.
  2. Claims processing for clicks and impressions
    1. The client must provide a detailed verifier report, which should contain the total number of impressions and clicks, grouped by day and site placement, in the context of browser versions and operating systems.
    2. If the data from the reports is not enough for analysis, the client will organize communication with an external verifier. An external verifier is expected to provide system logs for each display and click with the following information:
      • time, to milliseconds
      • ip-address
      • full user-agent
      • referrer
      • end-to-end identifier (if the verifier and SberSeller have integration, it is passed through a certain macro; in SberSeller terminology this is RCLID) 
  3. GIVT and SIVT claims processing
    1. The client must provide a detailed verifier report, which should contain the total number of impressions and clicks, grouped by day and site placement, in the context of browser versions, operating systems, and the status of assigning impressions and clicks to GIVT and SIVT (with a breakdown of their categories).
    2. If the data from the reports is not enough for analysis, the client organizes communication with an external verifier. The external verifier is expected to provide the system logs for each show and click with the following information:
      • time, to milliseconds
      • ip address
      • full User-agent
      • referrer
      • end-to-end identifier (if the verifier and SberSeller have integration, it is passed through a certain macro; in SberSeller terminology this is RCLID).
      • GIVT, SIVT status (with a breakdown by their categories)
  4. Claims processing for viewability, video inspections
    1. The client must provide a detailed verifier report, which should contain the total number of impressions, visible impressions, unmeasured impressions and inspections by day and site of placement, in the context of browser versions, OC.
    2. If the data from the reports is not enough for analysis - communication with an external verifier is organized. The external verifier is expected to provide detailed data (mandatory for non-certified MRC) for each display, visible display and inspection with the following information:
      • time, to milliseconds
      • ip address
      • full User-agent
      • referrer
      • end-to-end identifier (if the verifier and SberSeller have integration, it is passed through a certain macro; in SberSeller terminology this is RCLID)
  5. Handling Brand Safety claims
    1. The claim is accepted in case of displaying ads in undesirable content with topics specified in the KPI with the client.
    2. Proof of display in undesirable content is the provision of screenshots of placement on sites with visible violations. If there are no screenshots, the full URLs of the pages on which the Brand Safety violation was detected must be provided.
    3. SberSeller checks the said pages for compliance with the internal Brand Safety policy and generates a report specifying the reasons and the volume of impressions of the pages provided by the URLs.
  6. Post-Click Claims Processing
    1. Claims are accepted on the basis of the Yandex Metrics Roboticity indicator, if this indicator exceeds 20% per day.
    2. Along with the general indicators it is necessary to provide detailed statistics on visits, which will reflect the following indicators in the breakdown by day:
      • number of visits
      • number of unique visits (visitors)
      • bounce rate
      • click-through depth
      • time on site
      • % of robot visits
    3. Based on the claim received, SberSeller takes measures to localize the traffic segments that result in higher robot rates and disable them from the advertising campaign, also making additional checks for fraud.
    4. Claims based on such indicators as refusals, time on site, etc. - are not accepted, since they depend heavily on the content of the creative and the technical integration of the analytics system on a particular landing page.
Providing Compensation
  1. Terms of Compensation
    1. The terms of granting and the amount of compensation are determined by the terms of the contract.
  2. Conditions for denial of compensation
    1. An analysis of the reasons for the discrepancies does not confirm the reliability of the external verifier's statistics.
    2. It was not possible to clarify the reasons for discrepancies or deviations due to the lack of complete data from the verifier.
    3. There was a violation of the rules and requirements described in this document.
    4. Discrepancies occurred on the verification customer side due to late submission of materials, submission of incorrect materials, errors in materials on the verification system side.
